Flatulence
It is natural for dogs to pass gas when they digest their food. Flatulence is usually not a symptom of a serious health problem.
Some things that can cause excessive flatulence :
- Poor quality pet food containing ingredients difficult to digest.
- Table scraps.
- Lactose in foods.
- Eating too fast.
- A side-effect of medication.
If you change your pet’s diet, break meals into smaller portions given several times during the day, and eliminate table scraps, and the flatulence still continues - it is time to call the veterinarian. The veterinarian can check for possible food allergies and intestinal disorders.
